Hello and welcome!
We offer help and support to people who stammer (stutter). We offer one to one sessions, skype and phone sessions and a stammering support group. Our students come from Brighton and Hove, East Sussex and all over the UK, many from other parts of the world.
We believe that the key to recovery from stammering (stuttering) lies in having a strong technique that once learned will allow you to be fluent much of the time. We also believe that it's important to work on stammering stress - the stress we feel in any speaking situation. We have found that a stress relief technique called EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) works fantastically well as dissolving stammering stress. EFT involves tapping with fingertips on acupressure points, while repeating how you feel feel. EFT works instantly and the more you use it the more stress-free you become.
The following is the basis of our approach, please read our blog posts for more details:
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) - an amazing technique to eliminate speaking stress and allow us to move ahead with confidence
Costal (diaphragmatic breathing) - a breathing method that uses the more powerful and larger costal part of the diaphragm as opposed to the crural part that most people use when they speak.
Speaking deeper - speaking a little deep helps the speaker to avoid the throat area and higher voice pitch where the throat contracts and struggle takes place.
Voluntary stammering - using a strong technique to focus on feared words and with time and practice being able to say them with ease.
Assertiveness techniques - including rapport building, staying positive, good eye contact, assertive posture and speaking when we are ready.
We provide ongoing support and encouragement. We believe that it's important to accept the fact that you stammer and are doing something positive about it.

More about EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and how it can help people who stammer
When we use EFT for stammering we are working at an emotional level. So we are peeling back the layers of the stammer and how it first came about. A stammer is a symptom not a cause. To find the very root of why we stammer we can use EFT. The more we use EFT and reduce our stammering stress and peel away the layers the less the stammer bothers us. From the originally cause of the stammer we have learned many negative ways of dealing with the stammer. We may find the cause yet still have to work on the other related negative issues that we have 'picked up' over the years. That doesn't mean that we can't dramatically improve our speech - we most certainly can.
